Population Modeling - San Clemente Island Fox
Kirby Mills joined the Institute for Wildlife Studies in August 2025 as a Postdoctoral Researcher. She will be developing long-term population models of the San Clemente Island Fox.
Before joining IWS, Kirby attended the University of Oklahoma as an undergraduate student. She moved on to graduate school at the University of Michigan, working on projects investigating the ecology of African carnivores, including conflict between African lions and humans in Botswana. She also worked on camera trap studies of mammals across Michigan.
Kirby spends her free time enjoying the outdoors, reading books, doing jigsaw puzzles, and gardening - always in the company of her dog Charlie.
